Wow! It feels like a little while since I have last posted. It was good to have everyone back from their spring break adventures.
Upcoming Field Trips:
May 14th--Wittenbach Center 9:30-1:30pm--Please send your child dressed for being outdoors and ready for the weather. They will need a cold lunch and drink as we will be eating at the center.
May 30th--Dairy Discovery 10:00-12:30pm--Please send your child in closed toe shoes or boots. They will need a cold lunch and drink as we will be eating at the farm. Please send in $6 (cash only please) in an envelope labeled with "farm trip". If you are a parent planning to attend, please include your $6 as well. All money should be turned in by Tuesday, May 28th.
Phonics/Reading
We have now officially finished all the letters! This week we began reviewing the short vowel sound for letter Aa and how the sound gets whiny when followed by /m/ or /n/

*All of our heart words have now been introduced. The goal is to read at least 31 or more by the end of the year.
Nonsense Word--1 minute challenge!
Today in your child's folder is their 1 minute reading challenge for next week. Time your child for one minute each day to see how many of the silly words they can fluently read in a minute. Remind them that they only want to read each word once. They should be blending the sounds together. Send back their completed form at the end of the week for a treat! :)

Take a Peek at our Week...
WOW! The kids loved using their glasses to be scientists and watch the solar eclipse. We went out several times to observe all the changes that took place.
