Happy 100th Day of School!  

We had a fun day making 100 day crowns and necklaces, counting to 100 by 1's and 10's, reading 100 CVC words and writing about what we would like to do when we are 100 years old!






Notes for next week:

I will have a guest teacher here next week on Monday and Tuesday as I am at Regionals in Cadillac with the Ski Team on Monday and Tuesday I will be at a district math meeting all day.  Please call the office with any end of the day changes or immediate needs.  

Kindness Week

Next week we will be showing random acts of kindness!
Monday:  Wear purple to foster kindness, a welcoming environment and raise mental health awareness
Tuesday:  Wear Bright colors and hats and kind phrases on shirts
Wednesday:  Wear a shirt that represents something you like and find someone wearing something similar
Thursday:  Show how crazy you are about being kind by dressing in crazy hair and socks today.
Friday:  Wear school colors or Lowell gear.  Make sure to high five and fist bump as many students as you can today!

Valentine's Day Party

We will be exchanging Valentine's and having a little party on the afternoon of Feb. 14th from 2:00-2:45pm.  Please sign up below to donate to our party.  Valentine card making information will be in your folder today.



Phonics


This week we learned about letter K and it's sound /k/.  We learned that the sound /k/ if followed by i or e is usually proceeded by letter k.  Letter c would be used if followed by /a/   /o/   or  /u/.


Here are some words to practice reading and writing at home:
skip, Kip, skin, taps, tip, fin, skid

(These are the irregular words that we must learn by heart.)

*Form letters correctly and neatly
*We are learning to illustrate a beginning, middle and end of a story.
* Writing simple sentence strings
*Put space between our words

Reminders

*  Send a snack daily.  Be sure it is separate from their lunches and easy to find.
*  Return library books every Thursday.
