Happy Ground Hog's Day! It's not good news for my skiers, but it sounds like it will be an early spring! There are lots of sign ups below for upcoming events.
Field Trip--Wittenbach Nature Center
Thursday, Feb. 8th we will be going to the nature center, across from the high school. We will learn to be scientists in the winter. We will be there from 9:30am-12:00pm. We will return in time for lunch. Kindergartners will need to be dressed to be outside a good portion of the time and will want a snack that will fit in their coat pocket.
Global School Play Day!
Next week Wednesday we will participate in Global Play Day. This is a day for students to spend their day playing, creating, exploring in an unstructured format. The kids will get to decide what they play and do throughout their day. This is a wonderful time for the kids to use their imagination, creativity and problem solving skills! It's always a fun day!

Valentine's Day Party
We will be exchanging Valentine's and having ice cream sundae's on the afternoon of Feb. 14th. Please sign up below to donate to our party. Valentine card making information will be in your folder today.
Phonics
This week we learned about adding /s/ to the end of a word to make it plural. We learned that the "s" says /z/ when the sound before it is voiced like in the word fans and pods. This is tricky for the kids to here and notice so we spent a good amount of time building and segmenting CVC words with a "s" ending.
