April 15th
We had a great week back after Spring Break! The kids had many stories to share on their adventures both from those traveling and those staying home. Our family traveled to Fort Meyers with the baseball team for spring training. It was a relaxing and warm week on the beach, but I decided Michigan traffic is WAY better than Florida traffic!
Kindergarten Round Up
Next week Tuesday we will be hosting Murray Lake's Kindergarten Round Up for all NEW incoming Kindergarten age students for the Fall of 2022. If you have a child who will be 5 by Dec. 1st, please give the office a call to sign up your child for a visitation on Tuesday! Due to Kindergarten Round Up, I will be out of the classroom all day on Tuesday.
Danielle Cares for Chairs
Our math department is collecting plastic bread bag tags to help raise money for people who need wheelchairs or other adaptive equipment. Please send them in a baggie any time and we will add them to our collection. See the video link below for more information:

Younger siblings are welcome!!
Reading/Phonics
We have been learning about the digraphs ch/th/sh/wh/ph and also blends like /sl/, /br/, /sm/ etc.
We also got to light up ALL the vowels on our Vowel Shields as we are not experts at looking for and listening for those vowels in every word.
We also learned to be Avid Non Fiction readers and writers. We are learning about the different layers of rainforests and animals that live there.
Can your child read all these SNAP words?
I have included our most recent SNAP word assessment in your child's folder today. Please help your child practice the highlighted words. The words we learn this year are the same words your child will review the first unit of their first grade year, so knowing them now will help them feel confident going into first grade as a reader!
