December 10th

December 10th

This week was full of learning and Holiday Fun!  The kids had the opportunity to shop at the Secret Santa Shop.  We appreciate our Family Links and all of the volunteers that came in to help the kids shop for their family.

Mrs. Lee completed our winter benchmark with the Acadience Assessment.  I will be sending home those updated scores as soon as I receive them.  This benchmark included all four assessments:  Letter Naming Fluency, First Sound Fluency, Phoneme Segmenting and Nonsense Word Fluency.  These will be skills we continue to work on over the next several months.

Thank you all for filling up our Polar Express Day Party donations so quickly!  Please send in all food/donations by Thursday, December 16th, so I can have it all ready to go for Friday morning.

Murray Lake Family Directory

Are you interested in being apart of our family directory?  This is a great way to contact families in our school community to set up playdates outside of school.  This is optional to families and the directory will be sorted by classrooms.  Please click on the link below:

 Reading/Phonics

This week we learned how writing and reading go hand in hand.  We also learned about Persistence Power!  Just like superheroes...Super Readers never give up!  They keep trying other powers (strategies) to help them decode those tricky words.

We also learned three new Snap Words:  this   is    here

Can your child read all these SNAP words?

Unit #1 Words:

a    me     the     I     like   my

Unit #2 Words:

see      at     look      this     is    here

Math

We continue to identify whether a number story is asking us to add or subtract, make combinations of 5 and 10 as well as measuring using cubes.
