October 8th

This will be a quick one this week as I'm sure you are aware by now, that I have been home the past three days with this viral bug we seem to be passing around the class.  I am finally feeling like it's turning the corner and I am thankful it was not Covid.   However, it is not a fun, so hopefully no more of our little ones come down with it.  I  should be back on Monday.  

Thank you for keeping your kids home when they aren't feeling well.  It is really our best defense at keeping these bugs from spreading.  I appreciate your flexibility with having to reschedule my Thursday night conferences.  I am looking forward to talking with you and I will contact you next week so we can find a new time to meet! 

Mustang's on the Move Fundraiser

All donations must be turned in the morning of Oct. 20th to be entered into the prize drawings!  

REWARDS AND PRIZES FOR STUDENTS 

- Students receive a raffle ticket for the first $30 in donations raised. 

- Every additional $10 earns them another raffle ticket 

- A t-shirt on walkathon day.

 - A Grand Prize for the top 2 fundraisers in each grade 

 - A Pizza Party for the class that earns the most.

Grand Rapids Public Museum Field Trip

Mark your calendars for Monday, November 15th.  We will be going to the Grand Rapids Public Museum.  It's always nice to have lots of parents at this trip.  More information will be coming out later this month.  Mrs. Khodl, our substitute, will be attending the field trip with our class that day as I have to take my daughter on a college visit.  

 Reading/Phonics

This week we learned the letters Ss, Tt, Uu, Vv and Ww.  We continue to work on making our Alphabet Books and practicing letter formation in our Highlighting Books.  The kids are doing such a great job practicing the sounds and signals!

Math

We continue to practice number formation for 0-10.  We are working to become experts at recognizing, naming and writing each of these numbers.

Reminders

*  Send a snack daily several have been forgetting.

*  Send a water bottle daily...our drinking fountain is now working, too!

*  Wash towels over the weekend and return them on Monday

*  Return library books every Monday
