October 1st

Conferences are next Tuesday and Thursday.  If you signed up to attend virtually, I will send you a link to our meeting the day before your conference.  The link will be for an open meeting from 4:00-7:30pm.   Please sign on at your specific time.  Looking forward to meeting with you all!

On Monday we will kick off our annual Murray Lake Fundraiser!  Look for more information coming home in your child's folder on Monday.

We had a fun time at The Red Barn this week!  We heard some facts about farm life, read stories about apples and pumpkins and enjoyed picking pumpkins and petting the animals!  

Grand Rapids Public Museum Field Trip

Mark your calendars for Monday, November 15th.  We will be going to the Grand Rapids Public Museum.  It's always nice to have lots of parents at this trip.  More information will be coming out later this month.  Mrs. Khodl, our substitute, will be attending the field trip with our class that day as I have to take my daughter on a college visit.  

 Reading/Phonics

This week we learned the letters Oo, Pp, Qq, Rr.  We continue to work on making our Alphabet Books and practicing letter formation in our Highlighting Books.  We also made name collages as we get to know the letters in our name.

In Reader's Workshop, we learned how to look for WOW pages in our nonfiction books.  These are pages that we found extra interesting as we read.  We also learned the importance of RE-reading our books.  There is so much more information we can learn that we might have missed the first time.  

Math

We continue to work on identifying, writing and counting 0-10.  This week we focused on writing the numbers correctly and showing the quantity on a 10 frame.  

Reminders

*  Send a snack daily

*  Send a water bottle daily...our drinking fountain is now working, too!

*  Wash towels over the weekend and return them on Monday

*  Return library books every Monday
