October 25th

October 25th

I had to be out some this week for team meetings.  I really appreciate how well behaved the kids are when we have to have a guest teacher!  Look at these cuties!!

Halloween Party

Please join us at 10:15am on Oct. 31st for our Halloween Party and Parade.  The parade will begin at 10:45am.  Parents/families will head outside to watch the parade.  You will then be able to come back in and sign your child out as it is a half day of school for students.

Phonics/Foundational Skills:

These are the letters your child should be able to identify and give the correct sound for this week:  Cc and Gg
We are also learning to print these lowercase letters and build words with all the letters we have learned.

Here are the sight words "heart words" we should know:   the     a     I   got

Here are the decodable words they should know and be able to read:  at    mat   cot   got

This week we used our Chromebooks to take a quick assessment on IXL to find out what level of reading skills they should begin working at.  Next week we will take the math assessment.  When the kids log in to the program they will then automatically receive practice on the skills that are at their specific instructional level.  The program periodically reassesses them, so that they can continue making growth at their level of learning.  We will use this program to support our learning throughout the week.  As the kids become more familiar with the using IXL in the classroom, I will then send home their login information so you could have them work on skills at home if you choose to.  We will give them a couple more weeks to become familiar with it so they can work independently at home.

Home Activities:  Your kindergartner can complete lesson 6.2,  7.2-7.3 this week in the reading packet I sent home.

Take a Peek at our Week...
