January 20th

It's been a busy couple of weeks.  Last week our class completed their 2nd Acadience test of the year focusing on Letter Naming, First Sound Fluency, Phoneme Segmenting and Nonsense Word Fluency.  Reports will be coming home this week.  

Upcoming Field Trip volunteers needed!  

We will be going to the Wittenbach Nature Center on Thursday, Feb. 9th from 9:30-12:00pm.

We need at least 2 volunteers but will always take more!

You will meet us at the nature center at 9:30am.  Please email me if you are available to help.

  Learning Fair!

Our Murray Lake Learning Fair is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23rd from 5-6:30pm.  A sign up will be coming out soon for donations to our classroom basket for this years raffle.  Our basket is "Summer Treats and Play".

**The goal for the end of the trimester is to read 16 or more of our Snap Words.  

Reading

This week we learned about Sound Power and Word Part Power.

We are learning to look at all the sounds in a word and to look for known word parts like /at/  /an/  /is/  and /in/ to help decode CVC words.  

Math

This week we played several games to help practice math fact fluency 0-5.  Next week we will be comparing different lengths and working with the less than < and > greater than symbols.

Reminders

*  Send a snack daily.  Be sure it is separate from their lunches and easy to find.

*  Return library books every Monday.
