February 24th

Next week:   I will only be in the classroom on Tuesday next week.  I will be taking our three skiers to the state finals on Monday and then I will be leaving on Wednesday to take my daughter, Kaylee, out to New Hampshire for the Eastern National HS Ski Championships.  Mrs. Khodl will be here on Monday and Mrs. Austin will be here Wednesday-Friday.  

Reminder:  Next week Thursday and Friday are half days.  Dismissal at 11:50am both days.

March is Reading Month

Today in your child's folder, is our March Reading Calendar.  Also, you will find the paper you will fill out each week and return to school on each Friday to show how much time your child has spent enjoying books at home.  We have some fun activities planned during March for all our Super Readers!

Wittenbach/Wege Nature Center

We had a fun trip being SCIENTISTS at the nature center today!  Thank you to all of our parent volunteers that helped out and endured the icy trails!

 Reading/Phonics

We have been learning about blends and diagraphs.  We are working to find them in the words we read and listen for them in the words we write.

Math

We continue to work in our math journals solving problems with addition and subtraction.  We have learned several strategies for solving equations:  Using a number line, drawing a picture, using objects, and using a ten frame.  

Practice counting to 100 at home this weekend!

Reminders

*  Send a snack daily several have been forgetting.

*  Send a water bottle daily...our drinking fountain is now working, too!

*  Return library books every Monday
