Mustang's on the Move Fundraiser
Wow!! Our Murray Lake families are incredible!! We raised $38,000 as a school and $10,000 more from our sponsors! 100% of this money goes straight to our kids. Thank you so much!!
Grand Rapids Public Museum Field Trip
Mark your calendars for Monday, November 15th. We will be going to the Grand Rapids Public Museum. It's always nice to have lots of parents at this trip. We will arrive at the museum at 9:45am and will leave the museum at 1:00pm. Our Family Links is covering the cost of admission for all our students and Consumers Energy is paying for our bussing! We are so grateful! I am looking for 3 LEAD parent volunteers to help at the museum. You will be in charge of a small group of kindergartners while we are at the museum. As lead volunteers, you will get free admission into the museum and the planetarium show. Please sign up on the following link if you can help that day.
If you did not get a LEAD volunteer spot, we still would LOVE to have you join us! You will meet us at the museum at 9:45am. You will need to pay the general admission fee at the door and for the planetarium show. We are attending the 10:00-10:45am show, "One World, One Sky".
Mrs. Khodl, our substitute, will be attending the field trip with our class that day as I am taking my daughter on a college visit.

Reading/Phonics
We've had a busy week! Mabel introduced us to our first unit of SNAP words! Please practice these words at home. Remember, the kids need to know these "in a snap". They should not try to sound them out as many do not look the way they sound. Instead they need to have a mental picture of each word and be able to quickly identify them by memory.
Unit #1 Words:

Listen as we read our new book for our Book Boxes:
This week Mabel reminded us that we are Storybook Readers, too. She left us with a present! They were all our "Old Time Favorites" that we've been reading over and over again (Mrs. Wishy Washy, Brown Bear Brown Bear, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and more). We learned that when we have read a book many, many times, it becomes a favorite story that we can look at the pictures, remember the story and then read it back in our own words. Listen as our readers enjoyed some Old Time Favorites with their reading partners. Click on the links below!
Math
We are working with shapes this week! We learned/reviewed the four basic shapes: circles, squares, triangles and rectangles. Next week we learn about hexagons.
