Mustangs on the Move Fundraiser!

Our Mustang's on the Move fundraiser is wrapping up.  All donations should be returned in the manilla envelope by Monday, Sept 30th.  The online donations center will close on Sunday at midnight.  Next week the students will be participating in some fun health and fitness activities culminating with our Walkathon on Friday, Oct. 4th in support of all their donations collected.  For every $10 collected by each student they will get a ticket entered into a drawing for some awesome prizes!  Remember, 100% of the donations go directly to our school.  Let's go Mustangs!!

Next week is also Homecoming here at LAS...we will be joining in the fun with some spirit days next week:

Monday:  Pajama Day

Tuesday:  Dress like a Teacher Day

Wednesday:  Wear Pink Day

Thursday:  Favorite Sports Team

Friday:  Mustang's on the Move Shirts (They will get these on Friday morning)

Book Fair

The Book Fair is coming to MLE!  

The Book Fair will run Wednesday, October 9th - Thursday, October 17th.

Our class will preview the book fair on Oct. 10th.  

We are finishing up with our last 3 letters next week.  The kids have learned the letter, sound and motion to go with each letter.  We will now start studying each letter/sound a little deeper.  We will learn how each sound can blend with other sounds to make words.  We will also learn how to correctly form each letter.  Soon we will begin learning a list of irregular words as well.  These we will need to learn by heart.  Practicing these words at home will be very beneficial to your new readers!  I will post the words as we learn them.  I will also send a list of them at home to practice.
